Road traffic collision on Portland – witness and dashcam appeal

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward as they investigate a road traffic collision on Portland.

Dorset Police received a report at 6.25pm on Thursday 14 August 2025 that a red Yamaha R6CC motorcycle collided with two parked vehicles – a red Suzuki S-Cross and a black Nissan Qashqui – in Harbour View Road.

It was reported that the rider of the motorcycle initially stopped at the scene to speak to the owners of the parked vehicles but then made off with a group of people without providing their details.

Officers attended and the motorcycle was seized.

Police Constable Antony Frost, of Dorset Police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened, or the moments leading up to the collision, to please come forward.

“Also, I would be keen to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on either their dashcams, or home CCTV or doorbell cameras.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250120917. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
